My room mate has her boyfriend over for the weekend and they tried out something I think every couple should do: make brunch. Here’s a quick how to: make a quick Sunday brunch with your boyfriend. The food of choice was Crepes!
Crepes are quick and easy and hard to screw up… although my room mate’s boyfriend did add too much butter to the pan they were cooking in.
Things to remember when cooking with your guy:
1. Make sure the work is evenly divided, don’t do all the cooking yourself and don’t let your guy do all the cooking. Some one is bound to get frustrated this way. Remember, cooking together is a way to bond and it takes two to bond.
2. Remain calm. If something doesn’t go right while cooking… or if your guy burns what you’re cooking. Don’t get frustrated. It’s not the end of the world and you don’t want to make your guy feel like crap.
3. Have fun! That’s what it really boils down to. You want to make memories that you two can look back on years from now. You want to make one of those “remember when…” moments. So if you want to get a little messy in the process, do it. (Just remember to clean up after) You want something fun that you can remember.
How to Make Crepes: (Recipe taken from AllRecipes)
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and the eggs. Gradually add in the milk and water, stirring to combine. Add the salt and butter; beat until smooth.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each crepe. Tilt the pan with a circular motion so that the batter coats the surface evenly.
Cook the crepe for about 2 minutes, until the bottom is light brown. Loosen with a spatula, turn and cook the other side. Serve hot.
